On the 20th of February, we celebrate the Liturgical Feast of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta Marto. Sister Ângela Coelho, vice-postulator for the cause of Canonization of the Blessed children, gave us an interview through which we can better understand the meaning of this Feast.

This interview was given by Sister Ângela Coelho to the Centre of Communication of the Shrine of Fatima, with permission to be published in the site of the Postulation of Francisco and Jacinta.
We thank Sister Ângela for her availability to receive us and the enthusiasm she continues to pass when transmitting the message of the life of the seers of Fatima.
Interview by Sandra Dantas, Centre of Communication of the Shrine of Fatima.
Why is the Liturgical Feast of the Little Shepherds celebrated on the 20th of February?

Sister Ângela Coelho – The liturgical celebration of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta on the 20th of February is due to the fact that on that day we recall the death of Jacinta, the last of the two children to pass away. The liturgical feasts of the saints fall rather often on the day of their death, which, in the ecclesial community, is considered to be the dies natalis, the day of birth to eternal life. In the case of Francisco and Jacinta, the choice was to evocate their memory on the date of the younger of the two seers of Fatima.

What is the meaning of this Festivity for the Church and for the World?

Sister Ângela Coelho – To celebrate the holiness of a servant of God is to celebrate, first, the holiness of God, the all-holy who sanctifies each woman and each man ready to receive the gift of his grace. In the specific case of the liturgical celebration of Francisco and Jacinta, we thank God for the very particular way they lived their vocation to holiness. Seeing the life of these two children today, we are able to perceive that they lived the appeals with which Our Lady challenged them, so that looking at them is to look at an embodiment of the message of Fatima.

The feast of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta is also an incentive to our own vocation to holiness, to our availability to receive with confidence the will of God and his plans of mercy. At the same time, it is an incentive to prayer and to confidence in the intercession of these two friends of God, through whom we trust our joys and pains to God.
The message that the Little Shepherds heard from Our Lady and transmitted to the world is not circumscribed to a particular time in history?

Sister Ângela Coelho – The Little Shepherds received the message from Our Lady in a particular historical context and it is important not to ignore this context, as that context is the first addressee of the message of Fatima and its comprehension will give us keys of interpretation of the message. It has been frequently highlighted that Fatima, in the midst of other Marian apparitions, is the one that presents one of the most prophetic and political messages. In fact, reading through the Memories of Sister Lucia [Fatima in Lucia’s own words] is also to discover the gaze of hope that God has over the past century: a realistic gaze on the drama of suffering and sin, but a gaze filled of hope and mercy.

That does not mean, however, that this message does no longer have a place in our time. If Fatima does nothing else than highlighting the good news of the Gospel – and we can recognise many gospel traces in the message of Fatima: prayer, conversion, theologal living, adoration and conformation of life with God… – it is, therefore, expectable that its message be for ever and ever. No one would dare disqualifying the importance of the message of Fatima when what it highlights is the call to convert to the love of God and to be committed to it.
In the apparitions, Our Lady asks the Little Shepherds to do sacrifices for the sinners. Does this request still make sense in our time?

Sister Ângela Coelho – Today we are afraid of the word «sacrifice», which disturbs us and seems to be strange. And, meanwhile, sacrifice is the dynamic through which life is given. It is enough to recall the moment of birth of a human life to understand that the gift of life implicates sacrifice for the other.
Sacrificing oneself for sinners is nothing other than being ready to offer ones’ life for those who went astray from the love of God. It is accepting to participate in the redemptive mission of Jesus, of congregating everything and everyone in the house of God.
Besides being a way of bravely assuming the reality of life, the sacrifice that is requested in Fatima is also an excise with which the little shepherds, first, but also each one of us, today, are called to polish our freedom for gratitude and gift of all our existence to God for the brethren.
What is the point of situation of the Process of Canonization of Sister Lucia? And of Francisco and Jacinta?

Sister Ângela Coelho – The processes of beatification and canonization are frequently very long processes, and require a deep study of the lives of the servants of God, and the confidence, on the part of the faithful, in their fame of holiness. It is important to remind that the process of beatification of Francisco and Jacinta began in 1952 and it was only in 1989 that their decree of heroic virtues was signed by the Pope John Paul II, giving way to the beatification that took place in the year 2000, after approval of the first miracle through their intercession.
The process of beatification of Lucia is now in the diocesan phase. This phase is comprised of a demanding study on the life of Lucia, on her writings, on the testimonies which were gathered, so that she may be proposed as an example of a mature Christian faith. We continue to work on this process.
Regarding the process of canonization of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta, we are only expecting a miracle through their intercession. Meanwhile, our work is to spread their example of life and arise in people the confidence in the friendship with God of these children of Fatima.
Is it possible to define each of the three children with only one word?

Sister Ângela Coelho – Although short, the lives of Jacinta and Francisco are of such a rich spirituality that any short definition of their lives would always be very reductive. Still, if we wanted to find the word that better defines each one of the little shepherds, I would risk to say that Jacinta is defined by «compassion», Francisco by «contemplation» and Lucia by «faithfulness».

Mass Prayers and readings of Blessed Francisco and Blessed Jacinta Marto February 20th Memorial

Entrance Antiphon                                                                  Mathew 18:3
Unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven

Opening Prayer
God of infinite goodness
Who loves the innocent and exalts the humble grant that, in imitation of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta, we may serve You with purity of heart and so be worthy to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Liturgy of the word

The readings may be taken from the Mass of the day. When a pastoral motive dictates the use of readings in keeping with the feast, these can be taken from the Common of Saints or from those which follow.

Reading                                           1 Samuel 3:1, 3-10

Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening

A reading from the First Book of Samuel.

Now the boy Samuel was ministering to Yahweh in the presence of Eli; Samuel was lying in the Sanctuary of Yahweh where the ark of God was, when Yahweh called, “Samuel! Samuel!”
He answered, “Here I am.” Then he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am since you called me.”
Eli said, “I did not call. Go back and lie down.”
So he went and lay down.
Once again Yahweh called, “Samuel!! Samuel!”
Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, since you called me.”
He replied, “I did not call you, my son; go back and lie down.”  Samuel as yet had no knowledge of Yahweh and the word of Yahweh had not been revealed to him.
Once again Yahweh called, the third time.
He got up and went to Eli and said. “Here I am, since you called me.”
Eli then understood that it was Yahweh who was calling the boy, and he said to Samuel,
“Go and lie down, and if someone calls say, “Speak, Yahweh, your servant is listening.”
So Samuel went and lay down in his place. Yahweh then came and stood by, calling as He had done before, “Samuel! Samuel!”
Samuel answered, “Speak, Yahweh, Your servant is listening”.

The Word of the Lord

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord
And my spirit exalts in God my Savior;
Because He has looked on his lowly handmaid.
Yes, from this day forward all generations will call me blessed.

R.                                       The Lord has exalted the lowly.
For the Almighty has done great things for me.
Holy is His name, and His mercy reaches from age to age for those who fear Him.

R.           The Lord has exalted the lowly.
He has shown the power of His arm.
He has routed the proud of heart.
He has pulled down princes from their thrones and exalted the lowly.

r.           The Lord has exalted the lowly.

Gospel Acclamation               Psalm 118 (119), 130
R.  Alleluia! Alleluia!
As Your Word unfolds, it gives light, and the simple understand.

R.       Alleluia!

Gospel                                                        Matthew 18, 1-5, 10
The one who makes himself as little as this little child…..
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”
So He called a little child to Him and set the child in front of them. Then He said, “I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. And so, the one who makes himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in My name welcomes Me.
See that you never despise any of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in Heaven are continually in the presence of My Father in Heaven.
            The Gospel of the Lord.

Prayer over the gifts

Humbly we beseech Thee, Lord, that You accept the homage of our prayers and sacrifices, which we offer for the forgiveness of our faults and for the conversion of sinners.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever.

Communion Antiphon                           cf: Matthew 11:25

May You be blessed, Lord of Heaven and earth, because You have revealed to the little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom.

Prayer after Communion

For the Divine Sacrament which we have received, Lord, inflame in us that wondrous love which inspired the Blesseds Francisco and Jacinta to give themselves entirely to You and to offer themselves in love for the salvation of all men.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

LITURGY OF THE HOURS

LITURGY OF THE HOURS OF THE BLESSED FRANCISCO AND JACINTA MARTO

Francisco Marto (11.6.1908 – 4.4.1919) and Jacinta Marto (11.3.1910 -20.2.1920) were born in Aljustrel, a village in the parish of Fatima, in the diocese of Leiria-Fatima. In their humble family they learned to know and to praise God and the Virgin Mary.

In the year 1916, they saw an angel three times, and in 1917 the Virgin Mary appeared to them six times and urged them to pray and do penance for the remission of sins, and to obtain the conversion of sinners and peace in the world.

Both responded immediately with all their strength to these exhortations. From then on, even more inflamed with love for God and for souls, they had only one aspiration: to pray and suffer according to the Angel and Our Lady’s requests.

The words of the Angel “Console your God”, impressed Francisco very deeply and guided his whole life.

Jacinta, for her part, made every possible sacrifice for the conversion of sinners and as reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She also had a particular love for the person of the Pope.
In Fatima on 13th May 2000 Pope John Paul II inscribed their names among the Beatified.

SECOND READING

(Homily from the Mass of Beatification)

Privileged children of the Father

Father, … to you I offer praise; for what you have hidden from the learned and the clever you have revealed to the merest children” (Mt 11:25) With these words, Jesus praises the heavenly Father for his designs “Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will” (Mt 11:26). You were pleased to reveal the kingdom to the merest children.

According to the divine plan “a woman clothed with the sun” (Rv 12:1) came down from heaven to this earth to visit the privileged children of the Father. She speaks to them with a mother’s voice and heart: she asks them to offer themselves as victims of reparation, saying that she was ready to lead them safely to God. And behold, they see a light shining from her maternal hands, which penetrates them inwardly, so that they feel immersed in God just as – they explain – a person sees himself in a mirror.

Later Francisco, one of the three privileged children, exclaimed: “We were burning in that light which is God and we were not consumed. What is God!!! It is impossible to say. In fact we will never be able to tell people”. God: a light that burns without consuming. Moses had the same experience when he saw God in the burning bush.

What most impressed and entirely absorbed Bl. Francisco was God in that immense light which penetrated the inmost depths of the three children. A transformation takes place in his life, one we could call radical: a transformation certainly uncommon for children of his age. He devotes himself to an intense spiritual life, expressed in assiduous and fervent prayer, and attains a true form of mystical union with the Lord. This spurs him to a progressive purification of the spirit through the renunciation of his own pleasures and even of innocent childhood games.

Francisco bore without complaining the great sufferings caused by the illness from which he died. It all seemed to him so little to console Jesus: he died with a smile on his lips. Little Francisco had a great desire to atone for the offences of sinners by striving to be good and by offering his sacrifices and prayers. The life of Jacinta, his younger sister by almost two years, was motivated by the same sentiments.
In her motherly concern, the Blessed Virgin came here to Fatima to ask men and women “to stop offending God, Our Lord, who is already very offended”. For this reason she asks the little shepherds: “Pray, pray much and make sacrifices for sinners; many souls go to hell because they have no one to pray and make sacrifices for them”.

Little Jacinta felt and personally experienced Our Lady’s anguish, offering herself heroically as a victim for sinners. One day, when she and Francisco had already contracted the illness that forced them to bed, the Virgin Mary came to visit them at home, as the little one recounts: “Our Lady came to see us and said that soon she would come and take Francisco to heaven. And she asked me if I still wanted to convert more sinners. I told her yes”.

And when the time came for Francisco to leave, the little girl tells him: “Give my greetings to Our Lord and to Our Lady and tell them that I am enduring everything they want for the conversion of sinners”. Jacinta had been so deeply moved by the vision of hell during the apparition of the 13 of July that no mortification or penance seemed too great to save sinners.

RESPONSE  Col  1,24    2 Cor 4,10

Please take what is needed as per timing

INTRODUCTION  BEFORE  EXPOSITION:

Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, we want to learn with you how to love, teach us, to love sinners with all our heart, and to give our lives, so that none of them will be lost.
Teach us, your great love for the Hearts of Jesus and Mary
wounded by people’s ingratitude. Little Shepherds of Fatima,
holding hands with you, we want to enter ever more deeply into the Heart of Mary, Our refuge, so that she can lead us to God, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel…..

EXPOSITION:

Come & Worship – Hymn No. 99, page 43
Come and worship royal priesthood, come and praise Him Holy nation.
Worship Jesus our Redeemer, He is precious: King of glory.
Come and worship… worship Jesus in the Eucharist….
Come and worship … worship Jesus Bread of heaven…

We shall now recite the EUCHARIST PRAYER, which the three children used to do often:
“O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament!” (3 times)
Spend few moments in deep Adoration….

We shall now recite the MORNING OFFERING (This prayer is modeled after the Eucharistic Prayer recited by the Angel of Fatima at his third Apparition in 1916.) Please keep your scapular ready for kissing…
“O my God, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, (here kiss your Brown Scapular as a sign of our Consecration. This carries a partial indulgence) I offer Thee the Precious Blood of Jesus present on all the altars of the world, joining with the offering of my every thought, word and action of this day.

O my Jesus, I desire today to gain every indulgence and merit I can, and I offer them together with myself, to Mary Immaculate – that she may best apply them to the interests of Thy Most Sacred Heart”.

Precious Blood of Jesus, Save us!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for  us!

For the many times, we have not prayed the Rosary devoutly…
Not reminded to kiss our brown scapular in moments of temptation and anger and as a sign of consecration to God through the Immaculate heart of Mary…
Not offered up every day the sacrifices demanded by our daily duty to the faithful observance of God's law…

Not sanctified our daily duties…
Not observed the First Saturdays devotion devoutly…
Not followed our Good Shephered in bringing back that one lost sheep back into the WAF…
Lost the sense of reverence before God's presence…
Lost the value of time and not made good use of it…

Not lived out the words in our Consecration and Entrustment to God through the immaculate heart of Mary…
Not enjoyed the supernatural value of suffering and its fruits of peace…
Not Prayed to our Guardian Angels…
Not have had the most profound esteem for the Eucharist
Not made Reparation to the Most Holy Trinity through the Eucharist…

Not felt and spread Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist and the sense of reparation to console God and its fruit: the conversion of poor sinners…
Not praying with humility and accompanied by a spirit of sacrifice…
Not offered to God the sacrifice of some     little act of self-    denial in the matter of food…
The sacrifice in the matter of clothing, by not dressing decently and modestly….
Not bearing up with little annoyances….
Not fasting and doing abstinence as imposed by the Church…spend few moments in silently repenting

SACRIFICE PRAYER: “O Jesus, it is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” (Three times) (Our Lady of Fatima said: Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say many times, especially whenever you make some sacrifice)

Let our response be: Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.
Please repeat (R)
1. For the blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception…(R)

4. For those who try publicly to implant in the children’s hearts, indifference, contempt and even hatred against our Immaculate Mother…(R)
5. For those who blaspheme Her directly in Her Sacred Statues…(R)

6. For the devaluation of the Rosary in the present historical and theological context and therefore no longer taught to the younger generation(R)
7. For the lesser importance given to the Rosary Liturgically…(R)
8. For the fear that the Rosary is somehow unecumenical due to its Marian character(R)
9. For those who do not believe that the Rosary is contemplating Christ with Mary…(R)
10.For the blasphemies against the most profound esteem for Eucharistic Jesus(R)
11. For those who are not spiritually united with our Holy Father’s Act of Consecration today…(R)

We will now recite the Reparation and Pardon prayers that the Angel of Peace taught the three shepherd children, aged 6, 7 and 8 at Fatima: This is the Chaplet of the Angel of Peace (Imprimatur: Cardinal of Cebu Archdiocese Philippines, His Excellency Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal) This Chaplet is for the 5 wounds of Jesus: 10 times is for youth who do not pray, so we pray for them. It is to be recited like 5 decades of the Holy Rosary with the Rosary beads.

On the Our Father beads –  (Angel’s Reparation Prayer) “Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly and offer Thee the Most Precious Body,  Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ  present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and the indifferences by which He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners”

On the Hail Mary beads (Pardon Prayer) “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You, (instead of Hail Mary). (10 times)
I ask pardon of You for those who do not believe, nor adore, nor hope, nor love You.” (Instead of Holy Mary) (10 times)

After the five decades, conclude with: “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, Have mercy on us and on the Whole World.” (3 times)

Promise of the Guardian Angel of Portugal “Make of everything you can a sacrifice, and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and in supplication for the conversion of sinners. You will thus draw peace upon your country”.

HYMN No 133: I Surrender all, page 58.

Prayer of Contrition: O my Jesus, I love You over and above everything! For the love of You I am sorry for all my sins. O merciful love, I ask pardon for the sins of the world.
United with the Immaculate Heart of Our Heavenly Mother, I ask pardon for all my sins and for all the sins of my brothers and sisters that have been and will be committed until the end of the world.
My dear Jesus, united with Your Holy Wounds I offer my life to the Eternal Father according to the intention of the Sorrowful Mother.
Virgin Mary, Queen of the world, Mediatrix of humanity, our only refuge and hope, pray for us!

Please Spend Few Moments In Silent Prayer……

Scriptural reflection based on HH Benedict XVI’s homily on 13th May 2010: (MAY OMIT IF TOO LONG)

18.  the first visit made by the Lady “come from heaven”, the Teacher who introduced the little seers to a deep knowledge of the Love of the Blessed Trinity and led them to taste God himself as the most beautiful reality of human existence.
19.   This experience of grace made them fall in love with God in Jesus, so much so that Jacinta could cry out: “How much I delight in telling Jesus that I love him! When I tell him this often, I feel as if I have a fire in my breast, yet it does not burn me”. And Francisco could say: “What I liked most of all was seeing Our Lord in that light which Our Mother put into our hearts. I love God so much!”

20.  In listening to these innocent and profound mystical confidences of the shepherd children, one might look at them with a touch of envy for what they were able to see, or with the disappointed resignation of someone who was not so fortunate, yet still demands to see. To such persons, Pope  Benedict XVI says, as does Jesus: “Is not this the reason you are wrong, that you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God?” (Mk 12:24).

21.  The Scriptures invite us to believe: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe” (Jn 20:29), but God, who is more deeply present to me than I am to myself– has the power to come to us, particularly through our inner senses, so that the soul can receive the gentle touch of a reality which is beyond the senses and which enables us to reach what is not accessible or visible to the senses. For this to happen, we must cultivate an interior watchfulness of the heart which, for most of the time, we do not possess on account of the powerful pressure exerted by outside realities and the images and concerns which fill our soul.

22.  Yes! God can come to us, and show himself to the eyes of our heart.

23.
Moreover, that Light deep within the shepherd children, which comes from the future of God, is the same Light which was manifested in the fullness of time and came for us all: the Son of God made man. He has the power to inflame the coldest and saddest of hearts, as we see in the case of the disciples on the way to Emmaus (cf. Lk 24:32). Henceforth our hope has a real foundation, it is based on an event which belongs to history and at the same time transcends history: Jesus of Nazareth…..Faith in God opens before us the horizon of a sure hope, one which does not disappoint; it indicates a solid foundation on which to base one’s life without fear; it demands a faith-filled surrender into the hands of the Love which sustains the world.

“Their descendants shall be known among the nations, […] they are a people whom the Lord has blessed” (Is 61:9) with an unshakable hope which bears fruit in a love which sacrifices for others, yet does not sacrifice others. Rather, as in 1 Cor 13:7, this love “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things”

An example and encouragement is to be found in the shepherd children, who offered their whole lives to God and shared them fully with others for love of God. Our Lady helped them to open their hearts to universal love. Blessed Jacinta, in particular, proved tireless in sharing with the needy and in making sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.  Only with this fraternal and generous love will we succeed in building the civilization of love and peace.

A Prayer to Defeat the Work of Satan O Divine Eternal Father, in union with your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg You to destroy the Power of your greatest enemy - the evil spirits. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever! Take possession of your Kingdom which You have created and which is rightfully yours. Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You with every beat of my heart and with every breath I take. Amen. Imprimatur March 1973, † Richard H. Ackerman, Bishop of Covington

LITANY OF HUMILITY is a moving prayer that can bring us closer to Christ. Do you worry constantly about what others think of you? Do you feel empty or frustrated if you’re not the center of attention? The litany of humility asks for our Lord’s assistance in humbly following in His footsteps and casting aside, or at least offering up to Him, all those nagging doubts and fears that come with our self-centeredness. (accustomed to be said after celebration of Mass, by Merry Cardinal del Val, secretary of state to Pope Saint Pius X)

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.

DIVINE MERCY……

DAILY ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY *

I, N……, a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in Thy hands, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I forever renounce Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.

In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose Thee this day for my Mother and Queen. I deliver and consecrate to Thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future, leaving to Thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to Thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen.
(St. Louis-De Montfort's Consecration)

*  All -- especially mothers -- are called to entrust all their children to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, by name, each morning. She will protect them, for She is the Mother of all humanity!

Hymn on Mercy…..OR Hymn: WE STAND FOR GOD Hymn No. 72, page 31

We stand for God and for His glory;
The Lord supreme and God of all!
Against His foes, we raise His standard;
Around the Cross, we hear His call!

Strengthen our faith, Redeemer;
Guide us when danger is nigh.
To Thee we pledge our lives and service,
Strong in our trust that never shall die,
To Thee we pledge …shall die

We stand for God. Jesus, our Master,
Has saved the world with love untold.
His law divine and truth unchanging
In this, our land, their place must hold.

Seven powerful quotes from Servant of God Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart, who desired above all things to bring souls closer to God through the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary. [Author’s note, except where indicated, the quotes below are from Sister Lucia’s book, Calls from the Message of Fatima.]

Rosary

“When lovers are together, they spend hours and hours repeating the same thing: ‘I love you!’  What is missing in the people who think the rosary monotonous is Love; and everything that is not done for love is worthless.”

“The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families… that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.”

“Since we all need to pray, God asks of us, as a kind of daily installment, a prayer which is within our reach: the Rosary, which can be recited either in common or in private, either in church in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament or at home, either with the rest of the family or alone, either when traveling or while walking quietly in the fields. A mother of a family can say the Rosary while she rocks her baby’s cradle or does the housework. Our day has 24 hours in it. It is not asking a great deal to set aside a quarter of an hour for the spiritual life, for our intimate and familiar converse with God.”

Daily Sacrifices

“Putting up with any sacrifices that are asked of us in our day-to-day lives becomes a slow martyrdom which purifies us and raises us up to the level of the supernatural, through the encounter of our soul with God, in the atmosphere of the presence of the Most Holy Trinity within us. We have here an incomparable spiritual richness!”

Message of Fatima

“Hell is a reality. It is a supernatural fire and not physical. It cannot be compared to fire that burns wood or charcoal… Continue preaching about hell because Our Lord himself spoke about hell, and it is in Sacred Scripture. God does not condemn anyone to hell. God gave men the liberty to choose, and God respects this human liberty.”  [Christus Magazine Interview]

“Let us all willingly endeavor to follow faithfully the path that He has mapped out for us. Yes, because it was out of love that God sent us this pressing call from his mercy, in order to help us along the way of our salvation.”

The End-Times

“The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about marriage and the family. Do not be afraid, because anyone who works for the sanctity of marriage and the family will always be fought and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue. However, Our Lady has already crushed his head.”
